As part of the nationwide public engagement campaign, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, addressed a Da’wah meeting organized by the Juri Upazila Jamaat on Tuesday (April 29) at the Juri Upazila premises. In his speech as the chief guest, he stated, “We are not fighting to become President, Prime Minister, Minister, Member of Parliament, village council members, councilors, or mayors. We are fighting for the salvation of humanity in this world and the hereafter.”
Presided over by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Abdul Hai Helal and conducted by Secretary Md. Azim Uddin, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said, “Whether we are in government or not is not the primary issue. Allah has said, ‘I am the owner of power to give and take.’ Therefore, our struggle is not for power but for humanity. However, do not think that Jamaat will not take responsibility if entrusted. If Allah wills and instills love in people’s hearts, He will make that arrangement Himself.”
