By Sakib,Staff correspondent: The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested two female students suspected of involvement in the murder of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a student of Prime Asia University.
In a press release issued on Thursday (April 24), DB stated that Fatema Tahsin Oishi and Fariha Haque Tina, students of the University of Scholars, were arrested from a house in East Jurain in the afternoon.
According to DB, Oishi and Tina had been in hiding since the murder of Parvez. Based on confidential information, DB learned that the two female students were staying in a rented apartment on the second floor of a building at holding number 1804, adjacent to Ashraf Master Ideal High School in East Jurain. A raid was conducted, leading to their arrest.
It is noteworthy that on April 21, DB arrested Md. Al Kamal Sheikh, Alvi Hossain Zunaid, and Al Amin Sani from the Mohakhali Wireless Gate area in connection with the murder.
The following day, on April 23, RAB conducted a joint operation in Gaibandha to arrest the prime accused, Meheraj Islam. On the same day, another accused, Md. Mahathir Hasan, was arrested by Banani Police from Halishahar in Chattogram. The recent arrest of the two female suspects marks significant progress in the investigation, according to DB.
DB added that the investigation is ongoing, and further information regarding the case will be disclosed soon.
