Three Arrested, Including Prime Accused, in Fahim Murder Case in Golapganj

District Correspondent, Sylhet:  Three suspects in the murder case of Fahim, who was fatally stabbed in Golapganj, have been arrested. The arrestees are Kulsum Begum, wife of Md. Jilal Uddin, and her two sons—Saheed Ahmed (23), the prime accused, and Mahid Ahmed (19)—from Paschim Barokot village in Dhakadakshin Union.

Golapganj police confirmed the arrests on Saturday afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted an operation in Brahmanbaria Sadar and apprehended the suspects late Friday night. They were subsequently brought to Golapganj Police Station.

Sub-Inspector Abu Saeed, who led the arrest operation, stated that further legal proceedings against the accused are underway.

It is worth mentioning that the incident occurred on the night of April 30, when Saheed Ahmed allegedly stabbed Fahim Ahmed, son of Maulana Abdul Alim, following a property dispute. Fahim sustained critical injuries and succumbed to his wounds the next day while undergoing treatment at Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Following the incident, Fahim’s father, Abdul Alim, filed a murder case against the accused.
