Tahsina Rushdir Luna, Advisor to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and wife of ‘missing’ BNP leader M. Ilyas Ali, and former Member of Parliament for Sylhet-2 constituency, stated that the associates of fascist Sheikh Hasina have laundered billions of taka and are attempting to destabilize the country with that money. In recent times, the fascist government has reached its peak. They are embedded in all levels of the administration. A democratically elected government is needed to reform the administration.
Addressing BNP leaders and activists, Luna said, “I have received many complaints. Some are grabbing graveyard land and constructing buildings there. I want to make it clear that only those with legitimate documents and legal rights should occupy land. I will not tolerate land grabbing or unruly behavior. If party members are involved in any misdeeds, the party will not take responsibility for them.”
She made these remarks as the chief guest at an iftar discussion organized by the Bishwanath Sadar Union BNP on Saturday at a local community center.
The meeting was presided over by Bishwanath Sadar Union BNP President Jamal Ahmed and jointly conducted by Bishwanath Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Hossain Ahmed Probel, Upazila Jubo Dal leader Rumel Ali, and Bishwanath Sadar Union Jubo Dal General Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
Special guests included Bishwanath Upazila BNP Acting President Gaus Ali, Senior Vice President Dr. Mahbub Ali Zahir, General Secretary Md. Lilu Mia, Joint Secretary Lecturer Monayem Khan, Municipal BNP President Haji Md. Abdul Hai, Acting General Secretary Shamsul Islam, Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Shamim Ahmed, Asaduzzaman Noor Asad, Organizational Secretary Abdul Momin Mamun, Treasurer Abdul Mannan Ripon, and others.
Others who spoke at the event included Sylhet District Volunteer Party member Hasan Hafizur Rahman Tipu, Bishwanath Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Shamsul Islam, Senior Joint Convener of Municipal Jubo Dal Shahjahan Ali, Upazila Jubo Dal member Mamun Ahmed Kopy, Municipal Volunteer Party Member Secretary Ahmad Dulal Mia, Member Sahel Ahmad, Upazila Krishak Dal Convener Iran Mia Member, and others.
The event was also attended by Sylhet District BNP former Joint Secretary Mainul Haque, Oldham BNP President Jamal Uddin, Bishwanath Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Kader Ali, Youth Affairs Secretary Nurul Mia, and numerous leaders and activists from Bishwanath Upazila BNP and its associated organizations.
The discussion began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Kamrul Islam and concluded with a prayer conducted by Bishwanath Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Jamal Ahmed.
