Barlekha-Juri Correspondent: Freedom Fighter Muhibur Rahman, a resident of Brihottor Surikandi village in Doshyerbazar Union of Barlekha Upazila, Moulvibazar, has been laid to rest with state honors.
On Thursday (April 24) at 11:00 AM, after floral tributes and respects were paid to his coffin, a guard of honor was presented.
In the presence of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aslam Sarwar, a smart contingent of Barlekha Police provided state honors to the Freedom Fighter.
Following this, his funeral prayer was held at the Thila Mosque field in Surikandi village. Residents from Surikandi and neighboring villages participated in the prayer. Later, he was buried at the Thila Bari cemetery.
It is noteworthy that Freedom Fighter Muhibur Rahman passed away at his residence on April 23 at 4:20 PM (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un). At the time of his death, he was 79 years old and is survived by his wife, two daughters, one son, and numerous admirers.
Meanwhile, his demise has been mourned by the Upazila administration, police administration, local Union Parishad chairman, political leaders, and many others. They prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and expressed profound condolences to the bereaved family.
