Rush of Tourists at Shada Pathor

On the second day of Eid, the Shada Pathor tourist spot in Companyganj, a border upazila of Sylhet, witnessed an overwhelming influx of visitors. The entire area buzzed with the chatter of people from Sylhet and various parts of the country, making it one of the most vibrant tourist destinations in the region.

Although people started arriving at Shada Pathor from Tuesday morning, by afternoon, the place became completely packed with visitors. Tourists enjoyed an exquisite time indulging in laughter, fun, and water activities.

Jubayedul Haque Robin, a student at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), said, “I am a student of SUST, and my home is in Kishoreganj district. I went home for the Eid holidays and returned to Sylhet last night with my family. In the morning, we visited Shada Pathor. The breathtaking beauty of this place has mesmerized my family and relatives. We found immense peace and joy in the water activities here.”

Similarly, praising the beauty of the Shada Pathor area, Javed Hasan Abdar, a resident of Bishwanath Municipality in Sylhet, remarked, “Among all the tourist spots in Sylhet, Shada Pathor is my favorite. I have visited this place several times before. The natural beauty here is simply outstanding. During the Eid holidays, a massive number of tourists have flocked here, making the place lively and cheerful.”

Meanwhile, the Companyganj Upazila Administration has been actively working to ensure the safety and management of tourists visiting Shada Pathor.

Regarding the overall management and security of the tourist center, Companyganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Azizunnahar stated, “We are working to ensure the safety and convenience of all tourists visiting this area. Members of the local police and Ansar forces have been deployed for security purposes. Since it is the Eid season, we have deployed 12 Ansar personnel along with a team from the local police station. Traffic police were assigned to manage the parking areas. Around 1,500 boats transported tourists to the site from the dock. No incidents of disorder or untoward events have been reported.”
