The Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s student wing, Chhatra Dal, has approved a new committee for Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) after nearly a decade. According to the newly released list, Rahat Zaman has been named the President, and Naeem Sarkar has been appointed as the General Secretary of the SUST Chhatra Dal.
The central committee of Chhatra Dal, under the leadership of President Md. Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, announced the list in a statement issued on Friday night.
The 76-member new committee includes Rahat Zaman from the Department of Software Engineering (2017-18 session) as President and Naeem Sarkar from the Department of Statistics (same session) as General Secretary.
Md. Sohag has been named Senior Vice-President. Other Vice-Presidents include Syed Usama Ibrahim, Md. Jashim Uddin Laskar, Shah Paran, Md. Mahir Asif, Al Sowaibi, Md. Saeed Al Naeem, Marzia Sultana Pinky, Sharif Ahmed, Md. Ahad Rahman, and Md. Iman Hossain Elim.
Nazmus Saqib has been appointed as Senior Joint General Secretary, while other Joint General Secretaries are Maruf Billah, Md. Zahirul Islam, Md. Rahat Hossain, Affan, Mithu Sarkar, Md. Mostaqin Islam, Md. Junaid Hasan, Md. Al Amin, Fahad Khan, Mohammad Sohanur Rahman, Md. Arfan Uddin, Md. Zulfiqar Rahman, Md. Jabir, Harun-or-Rashid Rasel, Tajul Islam, Khalilur Rahman Chand, and Mohammad Ashik.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Kamrul Hasan, Noor Alam Rajib, Jamil Sajjad, Abu Afsar Mozammel, Mohammad Masood Hossain Shipon, SM Sakawat Shakib Niloy, Sohan Shah, Md. Mehedi Hasan, Md. Sharif Mia, Mostaq Ahmed, and Md. Mobin Siddiq have been named Assistant General Secretaries.
Adnan Ahmed Mohan has been named Organizational Secretary, and the Assistant Organizational Secretaries include Nasim Ul Huda Khurram, Shefayatul Islam, Fahim Abid Soumik, Rakib Mia, Md. Mahfuz Mia, Abul Hasanat, Kazi Tanvir Rahman, Hridoy Hasan, Al Mamun, and Maruf Sakline.
Shamsuzzaman Prince has been named Office Secretary, with Md. Tarek Rahman (Rajshahi) as Assistant Office Secretary. Mokbul Hossain has been appointed Publicity Secretary, and Md. Moniruzzaman as Assistant Publicity Secretary. Rimkatul Rasheed Othoi has been named Women Affairs Secretary, while Md. Hridoy Mia is the Literature and Publication Secretary, with Antar Uddin as Assistant Literature and Publication Secretary.
Mostafa Ahmed has been appointed Social Welfare Secretary, with Ashiqur Rahman Maruf as Assistant Social Welfare Secretary. Md. Sajjad Hossain Khan is International Affairs Secretary, while Tarek Rahman (Feni) has been named Finance Secretary, with Md. Kafi Kawsar as Assistant Finance Secretary. Md. Khalid Hasan Konok has been named Drama Affairs Secretary, and Iftekhar Hossain Saqib as Sports Secretary.
Asif Mahbub Ohi has been appointed Human Rights Secretary, Arafat Hossain Opi as Science and Technology Affairs Secretary, Md. Hasibur Rahman as Communication Secretary, Khalid Saifullah as Law Secretary, Md. Ibrahim Khalil Niyon as Cultural Secretary, Muntasir Mamun Shuvo as Mass Education Affairs Secretary, Md. Shahadat Hossain as Social Media Secretary, and SM Ziad Zubairi as Library Secretary.
The committee has been instructed to form a full-fledged committee within 30 days and submit it to the central office.
