New Bangladesh Post-July Revolution Must Be Advanced Together: Mia Golam Parwar

Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, said, “The holy month of Ramadan is the month in which the Holy Qur’an, the charter of human liberation, was revealed. This month calls for a commitment to developing oneself as a fully pious individual. Alongside conducting life in accordance with the Qur’an and Hadith, everyone must work towards building a justice-based society. Utilizing the teachings of Ramadan, we must seize the opportunity to foster an Islamic awakening while maintaining national unity.”

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an Iftar gathering organized by Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat in honor of journalists, professionals, eminent personalities, and politicians on Friday.

He further stated, “Ramadan is the month of Badr and the month of Qadr. It is a month for pledging to build a society based on justice. It is a time to vow to establish one’s rights. Post-August 5, the new Bangladesh must be advanced collectively. There will no longer be any opportunity to rehabilitate fascists in this country. Through unyielding unity among patriotic citizens, we must thwart all anti-national conspiracies. Ultimately, there is no alternative to building a Qur’an-based society for true liberation. Our journey towards constructing a justice-based society will continue despite all conspiracies, InshaAllah.”

The Iftar gathering, presided over by Jamaat’s Central Working Committee member and Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam and moderated by Secretary Muhammad Shahjahan Ali, turned into a grand assembly with the participation of individuals from various professions and classes.

Special guest Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubair, Assistant Secretary General of the Central Jamaat, delivered his remarks, emphasizing the importance of upholding justice in society based on the teachings of Ramadan.

The event was attended by lawyers, teachers from various universities and colleges, journalists from print and electronic media in Sylhet, poets, writers, physicians, and leaders of like-minded political parties.

A special prayer was offered for the welfare of the nation and the health and freedom of national leaders, led by Sylhet District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman. Before the Iftar, Hafiz Miftahuddin Ahmad delivered a discourse on the Qur’an and discussed the significance of Ramadan.

The event, held at Amanullah Convention Center in Sylhet’s Arambagh, included notable attendees such as BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Acting President of Sylhet Metropolitan BNP Rezaul Hasan Quayes Lodi, Sylhet Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ismail Patwary, Leading University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tajuddin, former President of Sylhet Press Club Moktabis Un Noor, Sylhet District Jamaat Deputy Ameer Prof. Abdul Hannan, among others.

In his speech, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubair said, “We must pledge to establish justice and good governance in all sectors of society by applying the teachings of Ramadan. Everyone must unite for a humane Bangladesh free of fascism through the mass uprising of students and citizens during the July Movement.”

In his presidential address, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam stated, “The holy month of Ramadan is the month of the revelation of the Qur’an. During this sacred month, the initial and ultimate victories of Islam were ensured. Therefore, inspired by the teachings of Ramadan, we must commit ourselves to building a justice-based society.
