Motorcycle Rider Dies Trying to Save Pedestrian in Barlekha, 2 Injured

In a tragic motorcycle accident in Barlekha , Moulvibazar, a young man named Samsuddin Munna Ahmed (25) lost his life. The incident occurred on Wednesday (May 7) at around 12 PM in front of a salon on the Sonapur Road near Ratulibazar. Munna was the son of Faizul Haque from East Borthal village in the same area.

In this accident, the motorcyclist Raju Ahmed and a pedestrian named Pranjit were severely injured. They were rescued and sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.

According to the police and local sources, Raju Ahmed and Munna Ahmed were traveling from Azimganj to Ratulibazar on their motorcycle. As they reached Ratulibazar, a pedestrian named Pranjit was crossing the road. In an attempt to save Pranjit, Raju lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a pillar of a salon on the roadside. Munna Ahmed died at the scene, and both Raju Ahmed and Pranjit sustained serious injuries. Locals immediately took them to the local health complex, where the doctors referred them for advanced treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Munna’s older brother, Faizuddin, stated that they had no complaints and requested the authorities to waive the post-mortem.

Bholarghat Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Abul Kashem Sarker said in the afternoon, “A young man has died in a motorcycle accident. Two others have been injured and sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Since Munna’s family has no complaints, they have requested that the body be buried without an autopsy.”
