With the slogan “Workers and Owners Together Will Build a New Nation,” May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day were observed in Balaganj.
On Thursday (May 1), the Balaganj Upazila Administration organized the celebration, starting with a colorful rally that began from the Upazila Parishad premises and concluded after circling the gate. Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium to commemorate May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025.
The event was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Administrator Sujit Kumar Chand, while Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sarkar Mamunur Rashid conducted the program.
Special guests included Balaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farid Uddin Bhuiyan, Agriculture Officer Ashiqur Rahman, Livestock Officer Dr. A.Z.M. Salah Uddin, Social Welfare Officer Jewel Ahmed, AGM Alaul Haque, Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Yunus Ali, Organizational Secretary Saiful Islam Saiful, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami General Secretary Advocate Rahmat Ali, local journalists, President of Balaganj CNG Auto-rickshaw Association Anwar Ali, labor organizer Helal Ahmed, and representatives from various government and non-government organizations, along with workers from different professions.
The program began with a brief discussion where the guests elaborated on the significance of May Day, emphasizing its importance and relevance.
