Lion Mohammad Imran: A pioneer in the industry and a progressive leader who believes in human values

Own Reporter:  With his extraordinary leadership in the ship recycling industry of Bangladesh for more than three decades, industrialist and humanitarian leader Lion Alhaj Mohammad Imran has established his position at a unique height. This leader, renowned as a successful businessman, is the pride of the country today for his humanitarian compassion, educational wisdom and role in social development.

Lion Mohammad Imran, who is currently serving as the Managing Director of Simni Group, is a pioneer of one of the country’s ship recycling companies. The companies established under his leadership are Simni Ship Recycling Industries, Nishat Ship Recycling Industries, Simni Shipping Lines Limited and United Laboratories Limited.

He continues to represent Bangladesh not only locally but also internationally as a recognized ship broker and agent. He is playing an important role in economic growth by importing scrap ships from different countries and ensuring the supply of raw materials for the country’s steel and construction sectors.

However, not only in industrial development, Imran has always been by the side of the common man. During the Corona pandemic, he set a shining example of courage and compassion by distributing food, medicine and essential items to countless people with his own funds. During disasters – especially during floods and cyclones – he went directly to the affected areas and delivered food and assistance to the people.

A local resident said, “No one returns empty-handed when asking for help from Imran Bhai. He does not disappoint anyone.” Such humanitarian initiatives are setting an example of maintaining peace and brotherhood in the society.

The foundation of this humanitarian leadership is built on the foundation of his educational career. His primary education began at K. M. High School in Fauzdarhat. Then he completed his higher secondary from the traditional Chittagong College. Later, he obtained an honors and master’s degree in physics from Chittagong University. Due to this knowledge-based and analytical education, he acquired a technology-based and rational mindset, which later helped him in his professional success.

Although he started his career at a young age, over time he has established himself in the ship recycling sector with his skills and foresight. Under his leadership, hundreds of young people have got jobs, while some have become entrepreneurs.

Imran believes that it is possible to build a smart, educated and self-reliant Bangladesh by standing on the four pillars of human values, good education, employment and industrial development. In his words, “When people are next to us, Imran is ahead.”

In today’s society, when most people are only busy with their own development, Lion Mohammad Imran continues to work selflessly for others. His philosophy of life gives only one message – education and wealth are worthwhile only when they are useful to society. He is undoubtedly a silent hero of this era, a reflection of true pride.
