Jatiya Party Secretary General Kazi Mamunur Rashid said that former President Pallibandhu Hussain Muhammad Ershad has been doing politics of the masses all his life. The main motto of his politics was the hard work of the country, the upliftment of the poor and helpless people. We have to move forward by embracing his ideology. He said that for the past 16 years, GM Quader transformed the Jatiya Party into the B team of the Awami League. Crores of Jatiya Party leaders and activists are paying the price for this. Jatiya Party leaders and activists from all over the country want freedom from GM Quader. Due to his short-sighted decision, the Jatiya Party is isolated from the people today. He also said that after the revolution of the students and the people, we now have to move forward anew. To gain the trust of the people, we have to reach their doorsteps. He called on all Jatiya Party leaders and activists to work together to meet the challenges of the future.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a pre-Iftar Mahfil discussion meeting organized by Jatiya Party Sylhet District and Metropolitan on Sunday (March 16) at the conference room of a prestigious hotel in East Zindabazar of the city.
At the Iftar Mahfil held under the chairmanship of Jatiya Party Sylhet District Branch Convener Advocate Kabir Ahmed, Jatiya Party Secretary General Kazi Mamun expressed his strong anger over the recent rape incidents in various parts of the country, including in Asia, and demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits through speedy trial by the current interim government.
Jatiya Party Presidium Member Khandaker Moniruzzaman Titu spoke as the main speaker at the event.
