Indian Smuggled Goods Worth Six Crores Seized

A F M Asad Ullah Asad: A large consignment of Indian smuggled goods, valued at approximately six crores, has been seized by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from Sylhet’s border area.

The seizure took place on Saturday morning from the border region of Sylhet district.

According to the BGB, the confiscated items include a significant quantity of Indian lehengas, skin shine cream, skin bright cream, Roop Ji cream, Gillette blades, sugar, Fiama soap, Pond’s Bright Beauty face wash, KitKat chocolate, fuchka, dried fish, betel leaves, and the vehicles (trucks and pickups) used for smuggling. The estimated value of the seized goods is around six crores.

The commander of Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) stated, “Following instructions from higher headquarters, BGB’s operational activities and intelligence efforts to ensure border security and prevent smuggling are ongoing. As part of this effort, the seized goods were confiscated during an operation in Sylhet’s border area. Necessary actions regarding the smuggled goods will be taken in accordance with the law.”
