A.F.M. Asad Ullah: Indian smuggled goods worth over 2.5 crore taka have been seized in Sylhet. These goods were confiscated during raids conducted in various border areas of Sylhet.
On Wednesday, based on secret information, joint operations were carried out with the assistance of the army by Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) in the border areas under its jurisdiction, including Protapur, Noakot, Sangram, Dibir Haor BOP, and the Sripur border area in Jaintiapur upazila.
During the operation, a large quantity of Indian lehenga, skin shine cream, Gomela cream, Clopzi cream, Nivea soft cream, Veet hair removal cream, sunglasses, cumin, sugar, fuchka, betel nuts, three-piece dresses, frocks, children’s angel toys, lungis, scarves, buffaloes, chocolates, soap, eyeball candies, Basmati rice, biscuits, and liquor were seized.
According to BGB, the estimated value of the seized goods is 2 crore 55 lakh 69 thousand 595 taka.
