Mohammad Khorshed Helali, Cox’s Bazar:
The former president of the Cox’s Bazar District Jubo League, Sohel Ahmed Bahadur, has been arrested by the Cox’s Bazar Model Police Station.
He was apprehended today, Saturday, at around 2:30 PM from his residence on IVP Road in Cox’s Bazar town.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, Mohammad Ilyas Khan, confirmed the information.
According to OC Mohammad Ilyas Khan, Sohel Ahmed Bahadur is a named accused in almost all cases filed over the attacks on students and civilians during the July mass movement. Since the uprising, he had been in hiding. However, the police received information that Bahadur was staying at his residence today. Acting on the tip-off, a large police team conducted a raid at his house. During the operation, he was caught red-handed and arrested.
The OC added that after his arrest, he was brought to the police station for further procedures.
