Former Chhatra Dal Member Arrested with Weapons in Sonagazi During Army Operation

Ai powered classroomFeni Correspondent: In a joint operation by the army and police, former Chhatra Dal activist Ibrahim Khalil Sohag (32) was arrested with weapons in Sonagazi, Feni. The arrest took place on Tuesday, April 15, at his residence in Kuthirhat village under Char Majlishpur Union. During the operation, a locally-made pipe gun and two rounds of ammunition were recovered from his bedroom.

Ibrahim Khalil Sohag is a former Chhatra Dal activist from Char Majlishpur Union and the son of the late Kamal Uddin of Cheru Pandit Bari in Char Gopalgong village. The matter was confirmed by Sonagazi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bayezid Akon.

OC Bayezid Akon stated that based on a tip-off, an operation was conducted in the afternoon under the leadership of Captain Alif Al Gani of the 33rd Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army, deployed in the upazila, with assistance from the local police. During the operation, Ibrahim Khalil Sohag was arrested, and upon his information, a locally-made pipe gun and two rounds of ammunition hidden under the bed were recovered.

He was later handed over to the police station. The OC also mentioned that there are numerous allegations against him for engaging in activities against public order and that a case under the Narcotics Control Act is already filed against him.
