The meeting was presided over by Professor Mohibul Aziz, convener of the Civic Mourners’ Committee, and moderated by eminent reciter and member of the Civic Mourners’ Committee Md. Mujahidul Islam.
Memorial speeches were delivered at the event by the member secretary of the Civic Mourners’ Committee Md. Atiq, former student leader and professor of Dhaka Medical College Dr. Fazle Elahi Milad, poet and journalist Abhik Osman, president of the Society of Social Studies Kazi Mahmud Imam Bilu, poet and journalist Nazimuddin Shyamal, educationist Azad Bulbul, general secretary of the Chittagong Metropolitan Committee of Khelaghar Bishwajit Basu, Jubo Union Chittagong District Committee President Md. Shah Alam, Chittagong District General Secretary of Udichi Shilpi Group Advocate Asim Kumar Das, Executive Director of Samaj Samiksha Sangha Kallol Das, Senior Vice President of Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha and Chittagong Divisional General Secretary of Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samyani Parishad Dipen Chowdhury, Vice President of Sammilita Abriti Jote Pranab Chowdhury, 21st batch student of Chittagong University Yusuf Hossain Bhuiyan, eminent banker Asrut Kumar Chakraborty, founding director of Samaj Samiksha Sangha Sumon Chowdhury Moni, 21st batch student Zahirul Alam and the late’s daughter Zahba Shabnam Ava were among others.

The speakers said in emotional voices at the memorial service that Saifuddin Khaled Khasru was a non-communal, scientifically minded and a shining symbol of humanity. From childhood and adolescence, he grew up in contact with thoughtful and talented people on the campus of Chittagong University. A tasteful cultural His upbringing in the environment made him devoted to the progressive movement throughout his life.

They also said that Saifuddin Khaled Khusru firmly believed in a free society of free people. He had constant faith in the development of reason and intelligence. He was vocal against the consumerist society and exploitation in the name of modernity and was a tireless dreamer of social change. He wanted to work for the people with true humanity and generosity. Therefore, he was a pure symbol of trust, love and reliance to everyone.

At the beginning of the condolence meeting, wreaths were placed at the portrait of the deceased by various organizations and a minute of silence was observed to respect his memory.
