An allegation of raping a 9-year-old child has surfaced in Chhatak, Sunamganj. Upon learning about the incident, locals vandalized the house of the accused, Sabul Mia (35). Later, the police arrived and brought the situation under control.
The incident occurred on Friday night in Jahirpur village of Bhatgaon Union in the upazila.
Chhatak Thana Police reported that when the news of a 9-year-old madrasa student being raped spread in the area, the local youth became enraged and vandalized the house of the accused, Sabul Mia. The police quickly reached the spot, controlled the situation, and sent the victim’s family to the police station to file a written complaint.
SI Kamal Mia of Chhatak Police Station said, “We are at the scene. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused in this incident.
