Chattogram Bar Association Ad-hoc Committee Member Resigns Prompted by Conscience

Staff Reporter: Advocate Syed Anwar Hossain has stepped down from the Ad-hoc Committee of the Chattogram Bar Association. This information was revealed today, Sunday (April 13), through a notification sent to the Ad-hoc Committee.

In the notification, Advocate Syed Anwar Hossain wrote:

“We were entrusted with the responsibility of upholding the constitution and democratic process by forming an Election Commission. However, as it was not possible to ensure transparency and participation by all in the said election, which has led to questions being raised, I am personally distressed. I believe this has tarnished the history and tradition of the Chattogram Bar Association.

In this situation, I am unwilling to continue performing my duties as a member of the Ad-hoc Committee. Under such circumstances, I consider refraining from duty and resigning from the position to be an act of honor and responsibility, prompted by conscience.

I have decided to voluntarily resign from the position of member of the Ad-hoc Committee and request the immediate implementation of this decision.”
