Anti-Drug Operation in Rajnagar: Three Sentenced, Moonshine Seized

An anti-drug task force operation in Rajnagar, Moulvibazar, resulted in the sentencing of three individuals and the seizure of moonshine.

The operation was conducted on Thursday (April 10) under the overall leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Afroza Habib Shapla. The joint team included members of the Department of Narcotics Control, Moulvibazar, and Rajnagar Model Police Station.

The operation targeted the Kharpara, Indanagar Tea Garden, and Rajnagar Tea Garden areas within Rajnagar Police Station. During the operation, three individuals were detained for drug consumption. The detained individuals are:
Md. Apan Mia (31), son of deceased Alal Mia, resident of Khargao, Joglu Mia (32), son of Monir Mia, resident of Porochokro, and Sumi Pashi (30), wife of deceased Pallob Pashi, resident of Rajnagar Tea Garden.

All three were sentenced to one month of simple imprisonment and fined BDT 100 each by a mobile court.

Additionally, during the operation, a raid was conducted on the residence of fugitive accused Kanai Rabidas (31), son of deceased Lokkhon Rabidas, in Indranagar Tea Garden. The raid led to the recovery of 40 liters of moonshine. A regular case has been filed under the relevant laws regarding this incident.

The Upazila Administration stated that such operations will continue in the future to eradicate drugs.
