An astonishing event occurred on the night of Shab-e-Qadr when an egg was auctioned for 22,000 Taka. This took place at the Mirzapur Bazaar Jame Mosque in the Mirzapur Union of Sreemangal Upazila, Moulvibazar, on Thursday night (March 27).

It has been reported that Md. Taju Mia from Jatrapasha village donated an egg to the Darul Qirat Majidia Fultali Trust Mirzapur Bazaar Jame Mosque branch. After the prayers, an open auction was organized in the mosque, with participation from local businessmen.

The bidding for the egg started at 100 Taka and, at one point, reached an incredible 22,000 Taka. Eventually, the egg was purchased by Md. Jahangir Alam, a businessman from Kashipur village in the same union. Following this, another auction was held for a lemon donated by another worshipper, which was bought by businessman Altaf Mia for 1,500 Taka.

Md. Zakir Hossain, a businessman and worshipper at the mosque, said the auction witnessed intense competition and concluded with a special prayer for the welfare of the nation and the community. The prayer was led by the mosque’s Imam, Maulana Md. Masud Ahmed.
