Abducted Child Rescued in Habiganj, Three Arrested

An abducted child named Nahidul Islam (8) has been rescued by the army in Habiganj. Three abductors were arrested during the operation. The arrested individuals are Mohammad Laden, Mohammad Shah Alam, and Mohammad Shah Noor, all residents of Baniachang Sadar. The abducted child, Nahidul, is the son of Mohammad Liton from Natirabad area of Habiganj town.

The child was rescued on Saturday night from Sadar in Baniachang Upazila.

The Media Cell of Habiganj Army Camp confirmed the incident, stating that a group of miscreants abducted Nahidul Islam on Saturday afternoon and demanded a ransom of 50,000 taka from his father. Later in the afternoon, the child’s parents reported the incident to the army camp. The army conducted intelligence operations to locate the child. Around 8:45 PM, an army team carried out an operation and successfully rescued the child. During the operation, three abductors were arrested. The child was handed over to his family, and the three abductors were handed over to the police.

Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al-Mamun Kabir confirmed the incident, saying, “We have been informed by the army, and police have been dispatched to the scene.”
