The Moulvibazar District Police Administration has awarded Barolekha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahbubur Rahman Molla and Sub-Inspector (SI) Subrata Chandra Das for their special success in unraveling the mysteries of several sensational cases, arresting the accused and recovering the stolen goods recently.
Superintendent of Police M. K. H. Jahangir Hossain, PPM (Services) handed over the special awards to them at the monthly welfare meeting of the district police on Tuesday (August 19).
According to police sources, a person named Ataur Rahman was robbed of 2 lakh 16 thousand taka in cash, a Samsung smartphone, a silver chain weighing two bhari and a smart card in Shimulia village of Barolekha Upazila on July 30. The victim filed a case with Barolekha Police Station in this incident.
After the case, the police, led by OC Md. Mahbubur Rahman, unraveled the mystery of the robbery as soon as possible. During the operation, a team of police including the investigating officer of the case, SI Subrata Chandra Das, was able to arrest the accused. During this operation, the stolen cash of Tk 99,500, a Samsung mobile phone, a sharp knife used in the robbery, an Apache RTR 150 cc motorcycle and a helmet were recovered.
OC Mahbubur Rahman and SI Subrata Chandra Das were awarded this honor by the district police for achieving significant success in several other cases including this successful operation.
