Fascist allies will not be allowed to enter the press club

Own Correspondent, Chittagong:  The occupation of the fascists in the name of journalism will no longer be tolerated. The press club is not an office of a particular party organization, it is an institution of journalists. No one will be able to enter here by insulting the spirit of revolution obtained in exchange for the blood of students and the public.’

Saleh Noman, General Secretary of the Chittagong Metropolitan Journalists Union, gave this warning at a journalist-student-public rally in Chittagong on Saturday afternoon.

He said, ‘Taking advantage of the administration’s failure, they are trying to become active in various places by hanging the journalism card around their necks. For the past 15 and a half years, these disguised fascists have built mountains of wealth by using the name of journalism in business and tenders. They have been driven out in the face of the revolution of students and the public. “No one will be spared if the barrier of patience is broken.”

Saiful Islam Shilpi, the organization’s organizing secretary, said at the rally, “The change that the students and the public brought in exchange for their lives in the July Revolution, is having to take to the streets again within a year.” He said to the Deputy Commissioner, ‘We respect you, but do not take any decision that will allow fascist supporters to enter the Press Club again.’

He said to the Police Commissioner, ‘Awami supporters are holding meetings and processions in secret, we have all the information, but you are not taking any action.’

The rally was also addressed by South District BNP convener Idris Mia, former coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Ridwan Siddiqui, former joint convener of private universities Chowdhury Siam Elahi, Abdur Rahman, Saifur Rudra, Tania Akhter and former joint convener of the city BNP SK Khoda Toton, Alauddin, Volunteer Party leader N Md. Rimon, Volunteer Party leader Imran Siddique Jackson, Volunteer Party president Monir Hossain, Chhatra Dal leader Md. Touhidur Rahman, among others.
