BSF pushes 48 more Bangladeshis through Pallathol border in Barolekha

Ashfak Ahmed, Barolekha (Moulvibazar) Correspondent: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 48 more Bangladeshis through Pallathol border in Barolekha upazila of Moulvibazar.

On Thursday (July 3), at approximately 5:40 am, the BGB detained them at a place called Pallathol Punji in the border area under the responsibility of Pallathol BOP under the jurisdiction of Beanibazar Battalion (52 BGB). In this regard, the BGB detained 341 people during the push-in through Barolekha upazila.

According to 52 BGB sources, 48 ​​Bangladeshi nationals illegally entered Bangladesh from India through the Pallathol Punji area in the border area under the responsibility of Pallathol BOP of the upazila and were roaming in the hilly areas when a BGB patrol team detained them. Among the detainees, there are 15 men, 15 women and 18 children. During interrogation, it was revealed that they illegally entered India through the border areas of Kurigram and Jessore districts for medical treatment and work approximately 6 months to 17 years ago. They were inhumanly tortured by the Indian BSF and pushed into Bangladesh, leaving behind their belongings.

Lt. Col. Mohammad Ariful Haque Chowdhury, commander of BGB 52 Battalion, said that during interrogation, it was revealed that all those pushed into Bangladesh were Bangladeshi citizens. Their homes are said to be in Jessore, Bagerhat, Chapainawabganj, Barguna, Barisal and Kurigram districts. Appropriate legal action is being taken against the detainees after confirming their identities.
