BSF’s push-in at the border does not stop; 11 more detained in Borlekha

Borlekha(Moulvibazar) Correspondent: Illegal infiltration from India through the Baralekha border in Moulvibazar has not stopped at all. Although the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has strengthened patrols in the border area, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has continued their push-in.

The BGB has detained 11 more men while infiltrating through the border of North Shahbazpur Union of the upazila in the early hours of Saturday (May 31). The BGB has confirmed that the detainees are Bangladeshi citizens. With this, 251 people have been detained while infiltrating from India through different areas at the Baralekha border.

BGB sources said that members of the Latu BOP camp under the BGB-52 Battalion arrested 11 people while infiltrating through the border area of ​​North Shahbazpur of the upazila in the early hours of Saturday (May 31). Later, after verifying their identities, they handed them over to the Baralekha police station. They are – Md. Al Amin (30) Dinajpur, Md. Maqbul (60) Dinajpur, Ariful Islam (20) Rangpur, Md. Hadiqul Alam (18) Rangpur, Md. Selim Reza (20) Dinajpur, Md. Khalilur Rahman (20) Dinajpur, Md. Nazmul (33) Dinajpur, Jahangir Alam (30) Dinajpur, Md. Zahirul Islam (25) Thakurgaon, Md. Rahman Ali (40) Thakurgaon, Md. Monirul Islam (28) Thakurgaon.

BGB-52 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Mehedi Hasan confirmed the arrest of 11 people and said that the detainees have been handed over to Barolekha Police Station. Barolekha Police Station OC Abul Kashem Sarkar said that the BGB arrested 11 people while infiltrating through the Barolekha border. They were later handed over to Baralekha police station. The family members of the detainees have been informed. They will be released into custody when their relatives arrive.
