Consumer Association of Bangladesh Committee Formed in Srimangal

The Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) committee has been announced in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, to ensure the protection of consumer rights and interests. In a general meeting held at the Srimangal Municipality Conference Room at 5:30 pm on Saturday (May 17), senior journalist Kawsar Iqbal was declared the president and Srimangal Press Club Treasurer Ehsan Bin Muzahir was declared the general secretary, and the names of the two-year (2025-2026) executive committee were announced by retired Vice-Principal of Srimangal Government College, Professor Rafi Ahmed Chowdhury.
Kawsar Iqbal has been elected as the president of the 21-member committee in Srimangal Upazila, retired officer Sushant Das Gupta as the vice president, lawyer Advocate Mizanur Rahman as the vice president, social activist Jidshan Pradhan Suchiyang Kordor as the vice president, journalist and writer Ehsan Bin Muzahir as the general secretary, and businessman Md. Faruk Mia, Legal Secretary Advocate Pankaj Sarkar, Journalist Amjad Hossain Bachchu as Organizing Secretary, Journalist Md. Al-Amin as Publicity Secretary, Engineer Md. Habibur Rahman as Executive Committee Member, Retired Government Employee Abdur Rouf Talukder, Professor Rafi Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate Professor of Mathematics Department of Srimangal Government College Sudarshan Shil, Lecturer of Bengali Department of Srimangal Government College Md. Saiful Islam, Headmaster of Barmachara Tea Garden Government High School Md. Zahir Ali, Imam of Srimangal Jame Mosque Maulana Abdul Quddus Nizami, Businessman Ashraf Ahmed, Moulvibazar Correspondent of Dainik Pratidin
The meeting was chaired by Professor Rafi Ahmed Chowdhury, retired vice-principal of Srimangal Government College, and moderated by journalist Kawsar Iqbal.
Incidentally, the Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) began its journey in 1978 with the aim of ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of consumers.
