Students and Citizens Stage Protest March in Borolekha Demanding Ban on Awami League

Borolekha-Juri Correspondent: In solidarity with the rest of the country, students and citizens in Borolekha, Moulvibazar, staged a protest march and rally on Friday (May 9), demanding the banning of the Awami League.

The protest march started in the evening from the Freedom Fighters Complex in the municipal town, paraded through the main roads, and culminated in a rally at the Shaheed Minar premises.

The rally was presided over by Humayun Kabir Saju and conducted by Kawsar Ahmed. Protesters raised slogans such as “No More Awami League, No More Hasina” to voice their demands.

Speakers at the rally declared, “Our movement will continue until the fascist Awami League, Jubo League, Swechchhasebak League, and all their affiliate organizations are banned.”

Prominent speakers at the rally included Tamim Ahmed, former member secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Sylhet District; Abu Hasan, former coordinator of Borolekha Upazila; student leaders Tofazzal Hossain, Abdul Wahid, Javed Ahmed, Kamran Ahmed, Abdur Rahman Ebad, Shabbir Ahmed, Istiyak Ahmed, and Abdullah Tayyib, among others.
