The case was filed late Tuesday night, according to Elias Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station. Ali Akbar’s wife, Elmunnahar, filed the case as the complainant.
The accused in the case are Jahangir Kashem (60), his son and district NCP leader Raiyan Kashem (28), Abul Kashem’s son Tanvir Kashem (50), Allawala Hatchery Manager Anwar (50), Ali Ahammed’s son Mohammad Hossain (28), and Rezaul Karim’s son Md. Cox’s Bazar Sadar Senior Judicial Magistrate Akhtar Javed ordered his transfer to prison. Two others, Mizan and Hossain, were sent to prison on Monday.
Defense lawyer Advocate Golam Faruq Khan Kaisar stated that they presented various arguments in court to establish that Raiyan was not involved in the incident.
