Aslam Chowdhury Appointed as Convener of the Chittagong University Alumni Association’s Ad-Hoc Committee

Staff Correspondent: The special general meeting of the Chittagong University Alumni Association, scheduled for May 2, 2025, at the International Convention Center adjacent to Almas Cinema Hall in Chittagong, was held at the premises of the convention center due to police intervention. (Registration Number: Chattogram-3212/2021, Date: September 2, 2021)

The meeting was attended by approximately 1,800 life members and was presided over by the organization’s executive member, Mr. M.A. Halim, with the session conducted by Acting General Secretary Mr. Kamrul Hasan Harun. The meeting commenced with Kamrul Hasan Harun explaining the context of the special general meeting.

Speeches were delivered to the attending life members by Vice President Mr. Md. Abul Kader, Executive Member Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Shamim, Office Secretary Dawood Abdullah Liton, Public Relations and Communication Secretary Md. Fakhrul Islam, Life Member Advocate Iftekhar Mohsin, and Assistant Cultural Secretary Hanifa Najib Hena, among others.

During the special general meeting, a proposal to form a five-member ad-hoc committee was put forward with the consensus of the attending life members. Mr. Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury (FCA) was elected as the convener of the proposed committee. The other members of the committee are:

1. Mr. Md. Ekramul Karim

2. Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Shamim

3. Mr. M.A. Halim

4. Mr. Md. Kamrul Hasan Harun

The life members unanimously approved the proposed ad-hoc committee through a show of hands. This committee will form a new executive committee through a systematic process within the next three months and transfer responsibilities accordingly.

The meeting concluded with all attending life members applauding the ad-hoc committee.
