One Arrested with 50 Bottles of Foreign Liquor in a Police Raid in Barlekha

Barlekha-Judi Correspondent: In Barlekha, Moulvibazar, police arrested a man named Alaudddin Alai (57) with 50 bottles of foreign liquor on the night of Saturday, at around 1:30 AM, near the Surma Community Center adjacent to Shahbajpur Railway Station in the upazila. Alai is the son of Tamshir Ali from the Pukuria village in the upazila.

According to police sources, based on a tip-off, police carried out a raid on Saturday night near the Surma Community Center adjacent to Shahbajpur Railway Station. While the police were present, one person managed to flee, but Alaudddin Alai was arrested from the spot. Later, the police seized 50 bottles of Indian liquor, estimated to be worth 40,000 Taka, from two plastic bags.

On Sunday afternoon, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barlekha Police Station, Abul Kashem Sarkar, confirmed the arrest of the man with the liquor and stated that a case has been filed against the arrested individual at the police station. He was sent to jail through court on Sunday afternoon.
