District Correspondent, Sylhet: The Bangladesh and Zimbabwe cricket teams have arrived in Sylhet to play a two-match Test series. The host Tigers have completed their preparations for the series. The first Test will commence tomorrow at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. On the eve of the match, the captains of both teams officially inaugurated the Test series by unveiling the trophy.
Once, the Bangladesh-Zimbabwe rivalry was intense and competitive. However, over time, the appeal of this contest has significantly diminished. No private broadcasters even showed interest in telecasting this series. Eventually, Bangladesh Television (BTV) stepped in to broadcast the series live free of charge.
Due to the reduced interest in the series, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has lowered ticket prices. Fans can now watch the match at Sylhet Stadium for as little as 50 BDT. This price applies to the Shaheed Turab Stand, Eastern Gallery Gate 3, and Green Hill areas. Additionally, Club House tickets are priced at 250 BDT, Eastern Gallery Gate 2 tickets at 150 BDT, and the Grand Stand tickets are priced at 500 BDT.
After the first Test, the second match will be held on April 28 at the Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium (formerly known as Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium) in Chattogram.
