In the City, Only 30 Stands Are Legal; All Others Are Illegal

The Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) has designated specific stands for CNG-run auto-rickshaws to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. A total of 30 locations have been approved as legal stands, and all other stands beyond these 30 are deemed illegal.

This information was conveyed in a notice signed by Noor Azizur Rahman, the Chief Engineer of Sylhet City Corporation.

From now on, the approved stands in the city include Ambarkhana Point, Tilagarh Point, Madina Market, Pathantula, Bandar Bazar Court Point, Temukhi, Tuker Bazar, Varthkhola (adjacent to Keane Bridge), Babla Point, Kadamtali Muktijoddha Point, Humayun Rashid Square, Samad Square, Sheikhghat Jitu Mia Point, Rikabi Bazar Point, Shah Paran Main Gate, Major Tila Islampur Market, Baluchar Point (adjacent to M.C. College dormitory), Kushighat, in front of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Gate, Dhopadighirpar (MAG Osmani Shishu Udyan), Kazitula Market, Jail Road Point, Shahi Eidgah Point, Kadamtali Overbridge Area, Varthkhola, Chandipul, Sirampur, Jalalabad Gas Office (adjacent to Mendibagh), Mokon Dokan Market (in SCC Ward No. 28), and Shibbari Market.

Regarding the initiative, SCC’s Chief Engineer Noor Azizur Rahman stated that the city corporation has been working on various plans for a long time to reduce traffic congestion in the city. Last year, the plan to establish 30 stands for CNG auto-rickshaws was introduced, and it has now been implemented.
