Infinity and Fabulous Mega Malls in Sylhet Fined Tk 60,000

Two upscale clothing brand shops in Sylhet City have been fined. Infinity Mega Mall and Fabulous Mega Mall were penalized Tk 60,000 by the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate.

Infinity Mega Mall was fined Tk 30,000 for not displaying manufacturing dates on various garments, while Fabulous Mega Mall was fined Tk 30,000 for failing to provide import documents for foreign clothes being sold.

The operation was conducted on Thursday (March 20) afternoon by the Consumer Rights Protection Directorate of Sylhet District and Division at several brand shops in the city.

Assistant Director (Metro) of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Debananda Sinha, told the media that a total of Tk 60,000 was collected in fines from the two establishments.
He added, “The businesses have also been made aware of the regulations. We are vigilant to ensure that unscrupulous traders cannot take advantage during Ramadan. Our operations will continue.”
