Jamaat-e-Islami Does Not Seek Power, It Seeks to Establish the Rule of Allah – Principal Abdul Hannan

Principal Abdul Hannan, Member of the Central Majlis-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Vice Ameer of the Sylhet District Branch, and the Jamaat-nominated MP candidate for Sylhet-2 (Osmaninagar-Bishwanath) constituency, said that Jamaat-e-Islami does not seek power but rather seeks to establish the rule of Allah. He stated that the party aims to establish justice in the country, eliminate discrimination among people, ensure peace, and guarantee the safety of lives. He emphasized that in the upcoming national parliamentary elections, all Islamic parties should unite to bring the Holy Quran to the parliament. He affirmed their unwavering commitment to this cause and stated that if the Islamic parties nominate a single candidate, Jamaat will work actively to support that candidate in the election.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an iftar gathering organized by the Osmaninagar Upazila Jamaat on Saturday afternoon at an elite community center near Brahmanshasan in Osmaninagar Upazila.

He further added, “We no longer want to witness any dictatorship in Bangladesh. During this sacred month of Ramadan, we, as representatives of Islamic parties, aim to see the Holy Quran at the helm of state power to guide the country, society, and governance.”

The iftar gathering was presided over by Osmaninagar Upazila Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Sohorab Ali and conducted by Secretary Anhar Ahmad.

Special guests included Jamaat-e-Islami Sylhet District Branch Assistant Secretary Principal Nazrul Islam, Sylhet Metropolitan Branch Assistant Secretary Jahedur Rahman Chowdhury, Islami Chhatra Shibir Sylhet District West President Moniruzzaman Pias, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Sylhet District Organizational Secretary Hafiz Maulana Saidur Rahman Chowdhury, Osmaninagar Upazila Branch Assistant Secretary Maulana Mutasim Billah Jalali, Sylhet District Jamaat’s Olama Division Secretary Maulana Sadiq Sikandar, and Osmaninagar Upazila Jamaat Assistant Secretary Hafiz Syed Nurul Islam Shahjahan.

Also present were Balaganj Degree College Principal Professor Surab Ali, former Chairman of the Botany Department of Sylhet’s MC College Professor Dr. Nesar Mia, Upazila Khelafat Majlis President Maulana Shuayibur Rahman, Vice President Azmal Hossain, Secretary Mufti Zainal Abedin, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Upazila Branch Secretary Shah Faisal Amin, Organizational Secretary Maulana Oliur Rahman, Osmaninagar Upazila Jamaat Naib Ameer Rezuanur Rahman Chowdhury Shaheen, Upazila Labor Welfare President Abdul Mumin, Usmanpur Union Parishad Jamaat Ameer Md. Shayesta Mia, Upazila North Shibir President Latifur Rahman, and South Shibir President Noman Hasan.

In addition, journalists, bankers, teachers, doctors, businessmen, and people from various professions were present at the event.
