Chattogram’s Pahartali police arrested a man named Md. Belal Hossain with two homemade firearms during a routine search at Haji Camp Mor.
Pahartali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Babul Azad said that the police’s patrol team set up a checkpoint and searched a CNG autorickshaw (Chattometro-Th-12-6386). During the search, Belal admitted to carrying the Lg firearms. He stated that he was on his way to deliver the weapons from Sadarghat to a person named Ridoyan in the Bayezid slum area.
During interrogation, Belal revealed that he works as a carrier for money. He collects the weapons from a person named Alamin Sagar in the Sadarghat area and delivers them to specified locations. He also mentioned that these weapons are used for illegal activities such as arms trafficking, extortion, and hill cutting.
Belal is a resident of the Sthal area in Chhagalnaiya, Feni district. He became involved in these activities due to his acquaintance with Alamin Sagar and their mutual residence in the Bayezid slum area.
OC Babul Azad further stated that the Pahartali police are conducting regular operations to prevent such criminal activities. A case has been filed in connection with this incident, and legal proceedings are underway
