294 Children and Teenagers Receive Bicycles for Praying in Congregation for 40 Days in Sonagazi

Feni Correspondent: In Sonagazi, 294 children and teenagers were rewarded with bicycles for performing five daily prayers in congregation for 40 consecutive days.

On Wednesday afternoon (April 16), the awards were distributed at a ceremony held at the playground of Amirabad Bhavani Charan Laha School and College in Nababpur, organized by the Union Parishad with sponsorship from Hosaf Group. The bicycles were handed over by Mabroor Hossain, the director of Hosaf Group, as recognition of their dedication.

The event was presided over by Nababpur Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Zahirul Alam and hosted by Kolorob Shilpi Goshti’s Yaseen Haider. Distinguished guests included District Commissioner Saiful Islam, Hosaf Group Director Mabroor Hossain, Circle ASP Taslim Hossain, and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tania Lubna.

According to Nababpur Union Parishad sources, the initiative began on February 14, starting with Fajr prayer on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Around 700 children and teenagers from various schools and madrasas participated at the Nababpur Central Jame Masjid and Bhor Bazar Central Jame Masjid. Among them, 294 managed to pray all five daily prayers in congregation for 40 days straight.

Those who couldn’t complete the 40 days weren’t left empty-handed. A total of 151 children and teenagers who participated in a Qiraat competition were given school bags as consolation prizes.

Locals praised the initiative, stating that it aims to inspire young children and teenagers to stay away from drugs and criminal activities by fostering a habit of regular prayer. They expressed hope that similar programs would be organized in mosques across the country.
